Belgian anticipates return in Italy

Iljo Keisse admits to being nervous as he prepares for the first summer six-day event, the Sei Giorni delle Rose, in Fiorenzuola, Italy.

Riding with Dutchman Danny Stam, Keisse told Belgian sports daily Sporza, "I am very pleased that despite the fuss, I can still start. It's not like a winter six-day but most riders are there."

It's the first six-day the Belgian has competed in since testing positive during the Ghent Six-Day last November, the consequences of which are still being decided by a panel of three professors. They are analysing dietary supplements claimed to be the cause of Keisse's positive control.

"I'm nervous about seeing the six-day riders again," said Keisse. "There will be some words exchanged, but I'm looking forward to it."

While a decision is pending until October, Keisse also said he hopes to be able to ride this November's Ghent Six-Day.
